Site: Professionals Training Center of BGP
Lecturer Introduction:
Dr. Oz Yilmaz is the author of the two-volume book on the subject, “Seismic Data Analysis,” published by the Society of Exploration Geophysicist in 2001. As such, he has an in-depth knowledge of the theory of seismic data analysis that he has skillfully combined with his practical experience on the subject in writing the book. Dr. Yilmaz has 30 years of worldwide experience in geophysical exploration industry. He has gained knowledge for a broad range of problems in seismic exploration and has developed appropriate solutions in the form of seismic workflows. He has received the Virgil Kauffman Gold Medal Award of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists for his contributions to the science of exploration geophysics.
Dr. Yilmaz is widely known in the industry not only for his knowledge of theory and practice of seismic data processing, inversion, and interpretation, but also for his unique ability to communicate his knowledge to others with clarity and eloquence. He has received the Conrad Schlumberger Award of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers for his teachings in Geophysics.
