Call for Papers

SPG/SEG 2006 Kunming International Conference

SPG/SEG 2006 Kunming International Geophysical Conference co-sponsored by the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG China) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists will be held at the Sunshine Coast hotel in Fuxian lake scenic spot (about 1 hour drive to Kunming City) from October 27 through 29, 2006. The theme of the conference is Reservoir Geophysics: data acquisition, processing and interpretation in mature oil provinces. It will offer an international forum to present advanced geophysical techniques and innovative research results. Technical co-chairmen, Niu Yuquan and Arthur Cheng cordially invite companies and professionals all over the world to submit papers on Data Acquisition, 3-D Seismology, Time Lapse Seismic, VSP, Multi-Component Seismic, Migration, Inversion, Reservoir Characterization, Seismic Attributes Extraction and Statistical Analysis and other related topics. Papers from U.S.A should be e-mailed to kuming2006@seg.org. All other papers should be e-mailed to Niu Yuquan, the address is niuyq@bgp.com.cn.

The paper submitted should follow SEG guideline for the SEG Extended Abstracts. The Extended Abstract should be limited to 4 pages of A4 (30cm by 20cm), with no more than 8 figures. The paper with no attached figures will not be accepted.

Please provide, with your abstract, the following information: family name, given name, employer, address, phone/fax number and E-mail address.

Papers received after the deadline of May 31, 2006 will not be considered.

Spouse tours during the conference and post-conference tours will be arranged. by organizing committee. These will offer you a very good opportunity to appreciate culture of Chinese minority nations, people’s daily life and traditions. Post-conference tours can be booked during the meeting. The spouse tours fee is included in the registration.

Xi-shuang-banna: tropical rainforest climate, the highest temperature in Oct. is 33℃ and lowest is 19℃; the highest temperature in Nov is 31℃ and lowest is 16℃, elevation is nearly 551m.
